New App Launches Battle Against Flu Season

May 5th, 2019

With the 2019 flu season looking to be one of the worst on record, it’s critical that children are properly vaccinated. By providing a stable immunisation reminder system, Wanngi aims to reduce stress and give peace-of-mind back to parents.

Last week, Wanngi launched Immunisation Management, a feature that allows parents to track and set reminders for their kids’ immunisations, ensuring they never fall behind on important vaccinations.

Wanngi is a mobile web app that allows people to create their own personal health record, track symptoms and injuries, and manage meaningful fitness goals through wearables like Fitbit.
Wanngi is also ready to connect to the Australian My Health Record as soon as the Government approval process completes, enabling people to view their vaccination records from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

According to the 2017 Australian Child Health Poll, 68 percent of Australian parents didn’t discuss the flu shot with their GP. Despite the constant news stream urging people to get the flu shot, many Australians aren’t thinking about it.

“This year, we expect the flu to kill at least 4,000 people which is the same number as deaths from suicide and the road toll combined” Chair of the Immunisation Coalition, Professor Robert Booy said.

The message is clear – the need to be immunised is critical, and a solution that helps people track and manage their immunisations is desperately needed.

Launched during World Immunisation Week, Wanngi’s new immunisation feature joins Wanngi’s list of health management services. Wanngi also includes the ability to manage your symptoms and injuries, with much more coming.
